Head to head

Pocket Option vs Quotex

Both are offshore binary options brokers with low minimums and free demos. Pocket Option offers more platform depth and a bigger demo; Quotex advertises higher peak payouts and a simpler interface. Neither is regulated by a tier-1 authority.

The payout figures need unpacking

This is where a straight table comparison misleads. Quotex advertises up to 98% against Pocket Option's 92%, which looks decisive. In practice the gap is smaller and may run the other way.

Independent reviews of Quotex report payout rates fluctuating substantially on the same asset depending on time of day — observations range from the high 80s down into the 60s. A 98% headline that applies to a narrow set of instruments at particular moments is not the same as a 98% you can trade against consistently.

Pocket Option's 92% behaves more like a working ceiling than a marketing number, though it too varies by instrument and conditions. Its own promotional material quotes figures well above 92% on specific products, and those deserve the same scepticism.

The practical approach with either platform is to check the live payout on the instrument you actually intend to trade, at the time you intend to trade it, rather than relying on either broker's headline.

Platform depth

This is the clearest genuine difference between the two, and it cuts in one direction.

Pocket Option offers MT4 and MT5 alongside its proprietary interface. Quotex does not — it is proprietary only. If you run automated strategies, use MetaTrader's analysis tooling, or simply prefer a platform you already know, that difference is decisive. If you have never used MetaTrader and have no intention of starting, it is irrelevant.

Pocket Option also offers copy trading, tournaments and an achievements system. Quotex keeps things deliberately simpler with a single account type and a cleaner interface. There is a genuine argument for either approach: Pocket Option gives you more to work with, Quotex gives you less to get distracted by. Beginners often find Quotex's simplicity easier to start with.

On the demo accounts, Pocket Option's $50,000 with unlimited resets is more generous than Quotex's $10,000, though this matters less than the numbers suggest. A $50,000 demo balance encourages position sizes nobody would use with a real $200 account. Whichever you choose, cap yourself at what you would actually deposit.

Bonus terms compared

If you came here from a promo code search, this is the section that matters.

Pocket Option currently offers 60% deposit bonuses through codes such as UWC135, with a $50 minimum and a $1,500 cap. Turnover requirements commonly sit between 50x and 100x the bonus amount.

Quotex bonuses are typically smaller, around 30%, and reported to carry a 100x turnover requirement. On a $100 deposit that means $30 in bonus credit and $3,000 of required trading volume.

Run both through the arithmetic and Pocket Option comes out ahead on this specific dimension — a higher rate with a turnover requirement that can be lower. But the caveat from our deposit bonus guide applies to both platforms equally: a bigger bonus is a bigger obligation, not a bigger gift. A 60% bonus you cannot clear is worth less than a 30% one you can.

What they have in common

The similarities matter more than the differences, and this is the part comparison pages tend to skip.

Neither platform holds tier-1 regulation. Pocket Option operates through Gembell Limited; Quotex through ON SPOT GROUP LLC, registered in St Kitts and Nevis. Neither is authorised by the FCA, CySEC, ASIC or SEC. That means no investor compensation scheme, no segregated-funds guarantee and no external ombudsman with either.

This is structural rather than a failing of either company. Binary options are restricted or banned for retail traders across most tier-1 jurisdictions, which is exactly why the brokers offering them operate offshore. Choosing between two offshore brokers does not let you avoid the category risk — it only lets you pick which offshore broker you take it with.

Both also have documented user complaints about withdrawal delays and verification requests, which is common across the sector. The practical mitigations are the same for both: complete identity verification early rather than at the point of withdrawal, withdraw profits regularly instead of accumulating a balance, and deposit only what you can afford to lose entirely.

Which should you choose?

Pocket Option if

  • You want MT4 or MT5 access alongside a proprietary platform
  • You are interested in copy trading or tournaments
  • Bonus rates matter — 60% against Quotex's 30%
  • You want the lowest possible entry point at $5
  • You want a larger demo balance and unlimited resets
  • Broader asset coverage across five classes is useful to you

Quotex if

  • You want the simplest possible interface with nothing extra
  • You are new and find feature-rich platforms overwhelming
  • You prefer a single account type over tiered structures
  • You intend to chase peak payout rates on specific instruments
  • You have no interest in MetaTrader or copy trading
  • Gamification features would distract you rather than help

Our view

On features and bonus terms, Pocket Option is the stronger platform: MetaTrader access, copy trading, a bigger demo, a lower entry point and roughly double the bonus rate. Quotex's advantage is simplicity, and for a certain kind of beginner that is a real advantage rather than a consolation.

But the more useful conclusion is that the choice between them matters less than the decision to trade binary options at all. Both are offshore, both are unregulated by tier-1 standards, and both operate in a product category most major regulators have restricted for retail traders. Pick whichever fits, but size your deposit as if you might not see it again — because with either platform, that is a real possibility.

Trading binary options and CFDs carries a high level of risk and can result in the loss of all invested capital. Do not invest money you cannot afford to lose. 18+ only.

Pocket Option vs Quotex FAQ

Which has the higher payout, Pocket Option or Quotex?

Quotex advertises a higher ceiling at 98% against Pocket Option's 92%, but independent reviews report Quotex rates fluctuating widely on the same asset, sometimes into the 60s. Check the live rate on the instrument you plan to trade rather than relying on either headline.

Which has the lower minimum deposit?

Pocket Option, at around $5 depending on payment method, against Quotex's $10. Both are low enough that the difference is unlikely to decide anything.

Which offers better bonuses?

Pocket Option, on both counts. Codes offer 60% against Quotex's typical 30%, and Pocket Option's turnover requirement can be as low as 50x where Quotex is reported at 100x. Both still lock the bonus behind substantial trading volume.

Is either one regulated?

Neither holds tier-1 regulation. Pocket Option operates through Gembell Limited, Quotex through ON SPOT GROUP LLC in St Kitts and Nevis. Neither is authorised by the FCA, CySEC, ASIC or SEC, so neither offers compensation-scheme protection.

Does Quotex support MT4 or MT5?

No. Quotex is proprietary-platform only. Pocket Option supports both MT4 and MT5 alongside its own interface, which is the single clearest functional difference between them.

Which demo account is better?

Pocket Option's is larger at $50,000 with unlimited resets, against $10,000 on Quotex. Both are free and both work without registration. In practice the smaller balance may be more useful, since it is closer to a realistic account size.

Can I use both platforms?

Yes, and running both free demos in parallel is a reasonable way to decide. It costs nothing and answers the question better than any comparison page can, including this one.
