Pocket Option Demo Account

The Pocket Option demo account is free, requires no deposit, and starts with $50,000 in virtual funds you can reset as often as you like. It is the only genuinely no-risk way to use the platform.

The demo uses virtual funds only. Live trading carries a high level of risk and can result in the loss of all invested capital. 18+ only.

  • $50,000 virtual balance
  • Unlimited resets
  • No time limit
  • No payment details
  • Same platform as live

What the demo account gives you

The demo runs on the same platform as the live account, with the same charts, the same instrument list and the same order types. The only difference is the money. You are trading a virtual balance against real market prices, so the mechanics and the timing are authentic even though the outcome costs nothing.

The starting balance is $50,000. If you trade it down — and if you are learning, you will — you can reset it back to $50,000 at no cost, as many times as you want. There is no cooling-off period and no cap on resets. Older guides sometimes quote a $10,000 starting balance, which was the earlier figure; the current standard is $50,000.

There is also no expiry. Some brokers give you a demo for 14 or 30 days and then close it. Pocket Option does not, so the account remains available as a testing environment long after you have moved to live trading.

What you can practise

  • Placing trades and understanding how expiry times work in practice
  • Reading the charts and using the built-in indicators
  • Testing a strategy across enough trades for the results to mean something
  • Working out your realistic trade frequency — which matters directly if you are considering a bonus code
  • Getting familiar with the interface before real money is involved

How to open a demo account

There are two routes, and the faster one skips registration entirely.

  1. Instant demo, no account

The platform offers a one-click demo that loads the trading interface immediately, without an email address or any registration step. It is the quickest way to see whether the platform suits you at all. The limitation is that progress is not saved between sessions.

  2. Demo with a registered account

Register with an email and password and the account opens with both a demo and a live balance, switchable from a toggle at the top of the interface. Your demo history persists, which matters if you are testing a strategy over weeks rather than minutes.

  3. Switch between demo and live

Once registered, a dropdown near the balance display switches between the demo and live accounts. Check which one you are in before placing a trade — it is an easy thing to get wrong in the first few sessions, and the mistake only runs one direction.

Where the demo differs from live trading

Demo results overstate how well you will do live. This is not specific to Pocket Option — it is true of every demo account anywhere — but it is worth being precise about why.

The money is not real, so neither is the pressure. Losing $500 of virtual funds is an abstraction. Losing $500 of your own money changes how you behave on the next trade, and usually not for the better. Discipline that holds on a demo often does not survive contact with a live balance.

Position sizing gets distorted. A $50,000 demo balance encourages trade sizes nobody would use with a $200 live account. If you intend to start with $200, set yourself a virtual limit of $200 and trade that. Otherwise you are practising a completely different activity.

Execution can differ under load. Demo fills are clean. Live fills during fast-moving news can be less so. It is a small gap, but it exists.

The most useful thing you can do on the demo is not chase profit. It is to count. Track how many trades you place in a typical week — that single number tells you whether a deposit bonus is worth taking, because bonuses are cleared by volume, not by skill.

Demo account or deposit bonus?

These get confused, so it is worth separating them clearly. They solve different problems.

The demo account is free, carries no conditions, and cannot make you money. Its only purpose is practice. Nothing you earn on it is withdrawable because none of it is real.

A deposit bonus requires your own money first. It adds trading credit on top of a deposit of $50 or more, and that credit is locked behind a turnover requirement — commonly 50x to 100x the bonus amount in trading volume — before any of it can be withdrawn.

The sensible order is demo first, bonus later. Use the demo to establish whether you trade enough to clear a turnover requirement at all. If you place five trades a week, a 60% bonus will lock up your withdrawals for the better part of a year. If you place fifty, the extra capital is genuinely useful. That decision is much easier to make with a few weeks of demo data than without.

Demo account FAQ

Is the Pocket Option demo account really free?

Yes. There is no charge, no deposit requirement and no payment details needed. The one-click demo does not even require an email address.

How much virtual money does the demo start with?

$50,000. If your balance falls below that you can reset it back to $50,000 for free, with no limit on how many times you do so. Older sources citing $10,000 are out of date.

Can I withdraw profits made on the demo?

No. Demo funds are virtual and have no cash value. Any profit exists only inside the demo environment. If a site tells you otherwise, it is wrong.

Does the demo account expire?

No. There is no time limit and no expiry date, so the demo stays available indefinitely. Many traders keep using it alongside a live account to test changes to a strategy without risking capital.

Can I use a promo code on the demo account?

No, and there would be no point. Promo codes add bonus credit to a real deposit. Since the demo has no real money in it, there is nothing for a code to apply to. Codes only matter once you fund a live account.

Is the demo available on mobile?

Yes. The demo works in the mobile browser and in the Android and iOS apps, with the same account switcher between demo and live balances.
