- Asset
- Any tradeable instrument on Pocket Option — currency pairs, cryptocurrencies, commodities, stocks, or indices. The platform lists 100+ assets across multiple categories.
- ATR (Average True Range)
- Technical indicator measuring asset volatility. Used to size trades proportionally to current market movement.
B
- Binary Option
- A trade with two possible outcomes: a fixed payout if the prediction is correct, or loss of the staked amount if not. Pocket Option's core product. Also called a fixed-time trade.
- Bollinger Bands
- Volatility indicator showing standard deviations above and below a moving average. Often used for mean-reversion strategies — see our strategy guide.
- Bonus

- Bonus Cancellation

- Call Option
- A trade that profits if the asset price rises above the entry price at expiry.
- Candlestick
- Chart format showing open, high, low, and close prices for each time period. The most common chart type used on Pocket Option.
- Copy Trading
- Feature that lets you automatically replicate the trades of selected traders. Available on Pocket Option as part of the social trading module.
- CySEC
- Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission. A major financial regulator. Pocket Option is not regulated by CySEC.

- E-wallet
- Digital payment service like Perfect Money, Advcash, or Jeton. Popular on Pocket Option for fast deposits and withdrawals.
- EMA (Exponential Moving Average)
- Moving average that gives more weight to recent prices. EMA crossovers are a common entry signal in technical strategies.
- Expiry
- The time at which a fixed-time trade settles. Expiries on Pocket Option range from 5 seconds to several hours.

- FCA
- Financial Conduct Authority of the UK. A major financial regulator. Pocket Option is not regulated by the FCA.
- Fixed-Time Trade
- Same as binary option — a trade with a predefined expiry and fixed payout. The platform's core product.

- IFMRRC
- International Financial Market Relations Regulation Center — a self-regulatory organization. Pocket Option is registered with the IFMRRC. This is not equivalent to regulation by a major government authority.
- Indicator
- A mathematical calculation overlaid on price data to identify patterns. Pocket Option supports dozens including RSI, MACD, Bollinger Bands, and moving averages.

- KYC (Know Your Customer)
- Identity verification required before withdrawing funds. Documents needed: government ID and proof of address. See our process.

- MACD
- Moving Average Convergence Divergence — a trend-following momentum indicator showing the relationship between two moving averages.
- Martingale
- A betting system that doubles position size after each loss. Mathematically guaranteed to fail given enough trades; not recommended on Pocket Option or any platform.
- Mobile App

O
- OTC (Over the Counter)
- Trading outside regular market hours, typically on weekends. OTC pricing is generated by the broker rather than pulled from a public exchange.
- OTM (Out of the Money)
- A losing trade — one where the prediction was incorrect at expiry.

- Payout
- The percentage return on a winning trade. Pocket Option payouts range from approximately 60% to 92% depending on asset and market conditions.
- Pin Bar
- A candlestick with a small body and a long wick, indicating price rejection. Often used as a reversal signal at key levels.

- RSI (Relative Strength Index)
- Momentum oscillator measuring overbought (above 70) or oversold (below 30) conditions. Common filter in mean-reversion strategies.
- Risk-Free Trade

- Slippage
- Difference between the price you expected and the price actually executed. Common during news events when prices move rapidly.
- Social Trading

- Support/Resistance

- Turnover Requirement

- Verification
- Same as KYC — the process of confirming your identity before withdrawing funds. Required by anti-money-laundering regulations.
- Volatility
